Yoga

Serenity

Happily, I have found a wonderful yoga class, taught at the most amazing venue – even better, it is right near my house.

In search of calm and zen, I hurried off the other week to find a group of women arranged in a circle in the coolest place I have ever seen yoga done so far, except perhaps for our B&B in the Pyrenees this summer at Foix, where Corinne taught yoga by the pool in the mornings. It was bliss, despite (or perhaps partly enhanced by) her cat Gizmo coming to howl and join in every day!

Here in Lusaka, our teacher speaks in a very relaxing voice, her class was manageable yet challenging and the circular pattern was a bit of a revelation. The breeze could blow into the thatched hut, we could hear birds singing (and a minor amount of traffic, but you are meant to block that out!). She even had me doing a head stand at the end of my first class! she holds classes there several times a week. In the absence of my elusive Taekwondo class, I shall seek solace in yoga instead.

The instructor and the classes are both great, the one I go to (where I took the photo) is at Sable Road. The yoga teacher is called Towani, she has classes in several different locations. This is from her email:

      30 G Sable Rd, Kabulonga: Mon Wed Fri 17:30 to 18:30, Tue & Fri 09:00 to 10:00
OXYGYM, Leopards Hill Road: Tue & Thu 19:00 to 20:00
Olympia Fitness Centre, 18 Mpulungu Road, off Manda Hill Road, behind Manda Hill Shopping complex, Olympia: Wed & Fri 07:30 to 08:30, Mon & Wed 12:45 to 13:45

      Maybe see you there! Jerri
